Facilities

The ALARIS laboratory is located in the new research building of Nazarbayev University with the total area of all allocated spaces reaching 250 m2, equipped with high-end Intel i9 CPU, 32 RAM, SSD workstations with NVIDIA 2080 GPU graphic cards for video data processing and realistic robot motion simulation, standard laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators).

The lab researchers work with a Kinova Gen2 6-DOF robot-manipulator and two Dr. Jaguar skid-steering mobile robots, 2 UR5/10 industrial robots and also have unlimited access to all shared equipment of the Department of Robotics and Mechatronics at the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences. Campus-wide software licenses for SolidWorks 3D CAD, Altium electronic PCB design software, MATLAB/Simulink and other software are also available. The NU provides services of a machine shop (drills, lathes and mills) and electronics shops for research prototyping purposes.
